IIG Bank (Malta) Ltd, established in 2010, is a licensed banking institution regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority. The Bank's principal activity is commodity trade finance with a focus on emerging markets and its aim is to play a role in sustainable trade finance as providers of specific expertise, market knowledge and robust compliance within a transparent supply chain.
The Role:
The Bank is currently looking to recruit an Officer on a full-time basis with an indefinite contract at the Branch Office in Qui-Si-Sana, Sliema.
The Customer Onboarding & KYC Officer is a member of the Customer Support Team who are responsible for the Bank's customer onboarding process, performing background checks and related customer due diligence (CDD) & KYC activities, and ensuring documentation is properly kept and is compliant with all regulatory and Bank's policies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Relationship Officer in collecting the necessary CDD documents to open individual/corporate customer account (including KYC procedures, compilation of customer file and checking onboarding document requirements, etc). This also includes the collection of CDD documentation for non-account holders as per the Bank's procedure;
- To perform periodic customer reviews for the account holders as per the established procedure and to ensure that all the account opening documentation are up to date;
- Compiling of CDD documents of Financials Institutions with whom the Bank has an RMA and to conduct reviews of these relationships as per the Bank's procedures;
- Maintain, monitor, and review the customer profiling and transaction records;
- Handle the day-to-day requirements of the clientele and Web enquiries on KYC related queries by existing customers;
- IIG Internet banking queries;
Requirements:
- Diploma in Banking and Finance or a relevant qualification is considered an asset;
- Previous banking experience or experience in a similar role will be considered an asset;
- Analytical with attention to detail;
- The capability of working effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision;
- Good problem solving and decision making skills;
- Good influencing skills;
- Good communication skills;
- Strong written and verbal communications skills;
- Strong Time Management and ability to meet deadlines;
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Positive attitude vis-à-vis the work, challenges and non-routine tasks;
- Experience using software packages such as MS Office;
- Maltese speaking is considered an asset
